Congregation Kol Ami: The Shul in the Sky.

plaqueCongregation Kol Ami is a vibrant urban Jewish reform congregation that has been serving the Chicago Jewish community since its founding as South Shore Temple in 1922. Located in the heart of downtown Chicago on the 9th floor of Water Tower Place, Congregation Kol Ami responds to the needs of the community with quality education, services and fellowship. We observe each holiday on the Jewish calendar from the solemnity of the High Holidays to the boisterous Purim Megilla reading.

In addition to our formal educational offerings, we host a variety of thought provoking speakers, participate in interfaith activities, and carry our banner in the annual Walk with Israel. We share potluck dinners after Havdalah, and everyone looks forward to our annual Black Tie Progressive Dinner.

We have book and film discussion groups, Social Action events and international travel projects, committees and activities for everyone to enjoy, and a growing choir, Kol Simcha, the voice of joy.

Please join us for Shabbat services and meet the welcoming faces that make up Congregation Kol Ami.

Our Values

Kol Ami offers a variety of traditional and evolving spiritual practices for the religious development and fulfillment of its members in an open, dynamic environment. In addition, Congregation Kol Ami provides an enlightened program of Jewish learning and a variety of social activities for all members in a warm, welcoming, and friendly community.

Our Vision:

Congregation Kol Ami strives to be the preferred house of worship for all who seek enriching Jewish spiritual, religious, educational and social opportunities.
