Sisterhood Notes -Great Things Are in the Works

From the sisterhood
WOW! As everyone knows the Gala was a huge success thanks to the efforts of Marvin Berns, Lori Swerdlow,
Sisterhood and many others. We had a great turnout and lots of good bidding. For the first time we had a live
auction for 2 items of jewelry and I conducted the bidding. What fun! I sincerely hope we can do that again.

It is wonderful to see our membership growing. If you have paid your Sisterhood dues with your regular dues –
thank you. If you have not, please consider sending your dues in as soon as convenient for you. Wouldn’t it be
wonderful to have 100% membership?

Sisterhood needs more helping hands to implement the programs and projects we have on the drawing boards.
You do not have to chair anything – just help when you can. Please call me, 773.529.7360, or email,
halavah@gmail.com, and let me know of your interest.

The bridge is going great guns and is expanding due to the efforts of Janice Gerstein. I even have my husband in
the beginners’ class on Thursday evenings. If you already play, try the drop-in on Wednesday afternoons. Try it,
you’ll like it.

Hope your summer is as great as it could possibly be and again, please consider getting involved.

President

Directory of Members

KOL AMI SISTERHOOD

Our Sisterhood is embarking on an exciting project which will accomplish two goals for our temple:

The first is to try to facilitate communication among members. To this end Kol Ami Sisterhood is creating a directory of its members for its members. A form will be sent to you by direct mail to be completed with whatever information you would like included in the directory. Please return this form to the Sisterhood mailbox at the temple.

The second goal is fundraising for Kol Ami. We will be selling ad space in our directory in the following manner:

Business card $25
¼ page $50
½ page $75
Full page $100
Back cover $250/side

The advantage to the advertiser is an entire year of exposure for a very reasonable cost. We should all talk to anyone with whom we do business who has a business card. I plan on talking to everyone I know who has a business card and asking them for a card and a check for $25 made payable to Kol Ami Sisterhood. If you would like to be an advertiser and supporter of this project or you know a printer who would like to work with us please contact me at home - 773.529.7360 or cell - 773.504.0044.

Thank you for your participation in this the first of many Kol Ami Sisterhood projects.

Sincerely,
Gail Sanders-Luckman
Sisterhood President

The Education Committee Needs You

Planning for educational programs that will attract our membership takes vision, creativity and dedication. But it's not a difficult thing to do. In fact it's fun! The challenge is to bring programs to our membership that will elicit enthusiasm and a desire to learn and grow. That is what the Education Committee does. There is always room for new commitment, new vision and newideas. That's why the Education Committee needs you. The committe meets the second Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Temple. Please consider becoming a member and trading ideas with this inventive group.

If you can help in any way; if you know of programs that the Education Committee could and should sponsor, let us know. If you know of educators who offer interesting programs, let us know. Contact Diane Beslow at dbblcsw@ameritech.net or Marianna Tax Cholden at mcholdin@ameritech.net. We are very interested in hearing your ideas and want to hear from you.
