Rabbi Laurence Edwards, Ph.D
will be teaching our Wednesday morning classes this year. Rabbi Edwards was ordained at HUC-JIR in 1975. He received a PhD degree in Bible Culture and Hermaneutics (the study of biblical interpretation) from the Chicago Theological Seminary in 2005. He is currently the rabbi of Congregation Or Chadash in Chicago. In 2005 and 2006 he was in Jerusalem as a faculty member of the Bronfman Youth Fellows. Rabbi Edwards has served as the National Associate Director for Interreligious Affairs of the American Jewish Committee. He is Book Review Editor of the Newsletter of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
